Fixing Botched Lip Filler: Overfilled, Uneven or Lumpy Lips

Close-up of a woman's lips with natural skin texture - fixing botched lip filler

Lips that turned out overfilled, uneven or lumpy are not the end of the story. With hyaluronic fillers correction is possible: the excess is dissolved, and the shape is then carefully rebuilt. The first step is an honest assessment of what was done and what can be fixed.

At a glance

  • Common problems: too much volume, asymmetry, lumps, "duck" lips
  • Solution: hyaluronidase, then a subtle correction if needed
  • Key: correctly identifying the type of filler
  • Result: more natural, balanced lips

What is most often corrected

  • Too much volume or „duck“ lips
  • Asymmetry of upper and lower lip or left and right side
  • Lumps and bumps under the skin
  • Thickening above the lip border or a „moustache“ look

First we assess the type of filler, the amount and position, because the plan depends on it.

What correction looks like

If the lips contain hyaluronic acid, the excess can be dissolved with the enzyme hyaluronidase. More on our page about hyaluronidase and dissolving fillers. After the swelling settles, which takes about two weeks, we judge whether to top up and reshape the lips with a smaller amount of filler, for example Revanesse Kiss+. The goal is not to „pump up“ again but to balance.

Limits

Hyaluronidase only works on hyaluronic acid. If another material was used, correction is different and we cannot promise the same outcome. Temporary reactions such as swelling and bruising are possible. That is why the first consultation is key, bring any information about what was injected, if you have it.

Price

The price depends on the area and treatment plan. See current prices in the price list; the exact plan is set at the consultation.

Frequently asked questions

How soon can I have a correction?

Most corrections start after the swelling settles, unless there is a reason for urgent action. The doctor decides at the assessment.

Will I end up with no lips?

No. The aim is to keep a natural shape and a volume that suits you. Often only part is dissolved and the new correction is small.

Can I come if the filler was not done by you?

Of course. We assess the situation without judgement.
