Towards perfect lips with fillers

Full, harmoniously shaped and well-cared-for lips can contribute to a fresh, feminine appearance. If you use make-up to make your lips look fuller, hyaluronic acid fillers are one of the options for correcting their volume and shape.

When augmenting the lips with hyaluronic acid fillers, particular attention is paid to proportions, symmetry and the so-called Cupid’s bow – the characteristic M-shaped structure of the upper lip. The aim of treatment is a harmonious result that suits the anatomy and natural expression of your face; the quantity and injection technique are planned individually after examination. Hyaluronic acid fillers are not used only for lip shaping. In line with their indications, they can be used to enhance the cheekbones, correct certain irregularities of the facial, chin and nasal contours, and treat dark circles and the area under the chin.

What can hyaluronic acid fillers do for you?

As the years pass, the face and lips gradually lose their fullness, while the amount of hyaluronic acid in the skin decreases. External factors, including UV radiation and pollution, also affect its level and the quality of the skin.

Hyaluronic acid fillers are medical devices in the form of a sterile, transparent gel containing hyaluronic acid. Thanks to its ability to bind water, hyaluronic acid plays an important role in tissue hydration, tone and elasticity, and is found naturally in other structures of the body.

In line with individual needs, hyaluronic acid fillers can be used to treat nasolabial folds, lines around the lips and eyes, and certain changes on the neck and décolletage. In this way, treatment can contribute to a fresher appearance and facial rejuvenation.

The duration of effect is not the same for every patient; it depends on the treated area, the characteristics of the product and individual factors, and in some cases the effects can be visible for up to two years. The treatment plan is determined after a professional consultation and assessment.

What does hyaluronic acid filler treatment involve?

Everything begins with a consultation: Dr Nenad Stanković analyses your facial anatomy, discusses the result you would like and proposes a plan tailored to your features. Before the injections, a cream containing a local anaesthetic can be applied if needed to make the treatment more comfortable. The filler is then precisely injected at the planned points. The result is visible immediately, while the final appearance is assessed once any swelling has settled. The treatment takes around 15 to 30 minutes, depending on the area.

Who is the treatment for, and when is it postponed?

Hyaluronic acid fillers are intended for healthy adults who wish to restore or enhance volume, soften lines or harmonise facial contours, with realistic expectations. Treatment is postponed during pregnancy and breastfeeding, in the presence of an active infection or inflammation in the treatment area, cold sores on the lips, known hypersensitivity to any ingredient of the product, and during flare-ups of certain autoimmune diseases. If you have previously had filler or implant treatments in the same area, be sure to mention this at your consultation.

Recovery and aftercare

Recovery is generally short. In the first few days, temporary swelling, redness and occasionally bruising may occur at the injection sites. It is recommended that you do not massage or touch the treated area unless instructed by your doctor, that you avoid intense exercise, saunas and sunbeds for one to two days, and that you do not expose yourself to strong heat or cold until the skin has settled. You can always contact the clinic about anything you notice after treatment.

What are the advantages of treatment?

One of the advantages of hyaluronic acid filler treatment is the relatively short recovery period. After the procedure, temporary redness and swelling may occur, and in some patients bruising that resolves over the following days.

Because the procedure is straightforward and can be tailored to your anatomy and desired result, hyaluronic acid fillers in Belgrade are frequently chosen for lip shaping and the correction of certain facial contours. At the ESTERA Clinic in Vračar, the approach is planned individually, after examination and in line with the indications.

The lips are an important part of facial expression and communication, and have inspired artists for centuries, featuring in countless poems, paintings and sculptures. Whether they are naturally full, thin, wide or heart-shaped, the goal of aesthetic treatment is not to change your personality, but to preserve your individual features and achieve a more harmonious appearance.
