FOTONA Deep Rejuvenation at a glance

  • What it is: deep laser skin resurfacing with Fotona lasers – a combination of Er:YAG and Nd:YAG wavelengths in the TwinLight® Fractional Rejuvenation protocol
  • What it treats: fine lines and deeper wrinkles, scars, uneven skin texture and tone, enlarged pores, signs of photo-ageing; face, neck, decolletage, eyelids and hands
  • How it works: three steps – Nd:YAG skin conditioning (FRAC3®), fractional Er:YAG ablation of damaged tissue, and a final light Er:YAG peel
  • Recovery: short compared with traditional ablative treatments; the fractional approach spares surrounding healthy skin and speeds healing
  • Results: smoother, fresher and firmer skin; new collagen builds gradually in the weeks after treatment
  • Price: depends on the treated area – see the price list

What is FOTONA Deep Rejuvenation?

FOTONA Deep Rejuvenation is laser skin resurfacing for patients who want a marked rejuvenating effect without surgery or aggressive chemical treatments. Unlike dermabrasion and strong chemical peels, laser resurfacing allows precise control over the depth and intensity of treatment, so the therapy is adapted to each area and each skin type.

The treatment is performed with Fotona lasers combining two wavelengths: the Er:YAG laser acts ablatively on the superficial, damaged layers of the skin, while the Nd:YAG laser penetrates non-ablatively into the dermis and heats it, stimulating the production of new collagen. In the TwinLight® Fractional Rejuvenation protocol these two mechanisms are combined in a single treatment.

The fractional approach means the laser beam acts only on micro-channels within the damaged skin, leaving the surrounding healthy tissue untouched. Healthy skin around the treated channels speeds healing, and the heat of the laser energy stimulates the production of new collagen in the dermis – so results develop gradually and last.

How it works: the three steps of TwinLight® Fractional Rejuvenation

Step 1 – skin conditioning (Nd:YAG). The Nd:YAG beam passes over the skin surface twice. The first pass provides a short stimulus, and the second penetrates deeper into the tissue, causing FRAC3® heating and conditioning the skin for effective fractional therapy.

Step 2 – fractional therapy (Er:YAG). The fractional Er:YAG laser removes old, damaged skin cells through precise micro-ablated channels. As the skin heals, new, healthier and tighter tissue forms in their place.

Step 3 – peel (Er:YAG). A light Er:YAG beam passes over the entire treated surface, removing fine superficial imperfections and finishing the treatment.

This combination allows a wide range of treatments – from a light refreshment of the complexion to deep collagen remodelling – with a degree of control that traditional ablative methods do not offer.

Which areas can be treated?

FOTONA Deep Rejuvenation is planned by area, depending on the condition of the skin and the desired effect:

  • full face
  • face and neck
  • face, neck and decolletage
  • neck
  • decolletage
  • lower eyelids
  • lower and upper eyelids
  • hands

The choice of area and the intensity of the treatment are determined during the consultation, after assessing skin type, wrinkle depth and the degree of photo-ageing.

Who is the treatment for?

The treatment is suitable for all skin types and tones. It is intended for patients who want noticeable rejuvenation – smoother, firmer and fresher skin – but do not opt for surgical or aggressive chemical alternatives. It responds well to:

  • fine lines and deeper wrinkles,
  • scars and uneven skin texture,
  • the effects of photo-ageing and uneven skin tone,
  • lax skin of the face, neck, decolletage, eyelids and hands.

The treatment is postponed in cases of active skin infection in the treated area, fresh healing scars, pregnancy and in people with weakened immunity. The final assessment is made by the doctor during the consultation.

Recovery and aftercare

Compared with traditional ablative treatments, recovery is short thanks to the fractional approach: the healthy skin spared between the micro-channels speeds epithelialisation. In the first few days, redness, mild swelling and a feeling of tightness are possible and resolve on their own.

After the treatment, protect the skin from the sun (a high-SPF cream is mandatory), avoid aggressive products until the skin has fully healed, and follow your doctor’s aftercare instructions. You will receive a detailed care plan after the treatment.

How much does FOTONA Deep Rejuvenation cost?

The price depends on the treated area – the price list is available on the price list page, and the exact treatment plan and number of sessions are determined during the consultation.

Frequently asked questions about FOTONA Deep Rejuvenation

Is the treatment painful?

Sensitivity depends on the intensity and area of the treatment. Most patients describe a passing feeling of heat and tingling. For deeper settings, an anaesthetic cream is applied if needed, so the treatment is well tolerated.

How long is the recovery?

Shorter than with traditional ablative treatments, because the fractional approach spares the surrounding skin. Redness and mild swelling in the first days resolve on their own; the skin should be protected from the sun until fully healed.

When are the results visible?

First results are visible once the skin has healed, and the full effect develops gradually in the weeks after the treatment, as new collagen builds in the dermis.

How many treatments are needed?

It depends on the condition of the skin and the goal – from a single deeper treatment to a series of gentler ones. The plan is determined during the consultation, after the skin assessment.
