Hand rejuvenation at a glance
- What it treats: thin, dry and lax skin of the hands, fine lines, age spots, prominent veins and tendons, loss of volume
- Methods: biorevitalisation, polynucleotides, hyaluronic acid fillers, collagen stimulators (Radiesse), chemical peel – individually or combined, according to the skin
- Treatment time: 30-45 minutes, with anaesthetic cream
- Recovery: short; mild swelling, redness or bruising may occur and resolves within a few days
- Duration of effect: from several months up to two years, depending on the method
- Price: according to the chosen protocol – see the price list
Why do hands reveal age?
While most anti-ageing care focuses on the face, the skin of the hands often shows true age first. The skin on the back of the hand is naturally thin, with little subcutaneous fat, and it is exposed daily to sun, temperature changes, water and cleaning chemicals. All of this speeds up the breakdown of the lipid layer and the loss of collagen.
The consequences are typically visible from the early thirties: the skin becomes dry and thin, fine lines appear, veins and tendons become more noticeable, and years of sun exposure leave hyperpigmentation – age spots. The face may look cared for and rejuvenated, but the hands reveal the true condition of the skin.
When is hand rejuvenation needed?
We recommend hand rejuvenation to people who notice one or more of these signs:
- thin, dry skin that flakes and loses elasticity;
- fine lines and laxity of the skin on the back of the hands;
- prominent veins and tendons due to loss of subcutaneous volume;
- dark spots and age spots (a consequence of UV radiation, hormonal and age-related changes);
- uneven skin colour and texture.
The treatment suits women and men equally, as well as younger people whose goal is prevention – timely collagen stimulation delays the visible signs of ageing.
Which methods do we use?
There is no single „hand treatment“ – real results come from a combination of methods, chosen according to the dominant concern:
- Biorevitalisation – deep hydration and revitalisation of thin, dry skin; restores freshness and evens out texture.
- Polynucleotides – bioregeneration: they stimulate fibroblasts and the renewal of the skin’s own collagen, especially effective on thin, damaged skin.
- Hyaluronic acid fillers – restore volume to the back of the hand, softening the prominence of veins and tendons and smoothing lines.
- Radiesse (collagen stimulator) – instant volume correction with long-term collagen stimulation; the effect lasts a year and longer.
- Chemical peel – removes the surface layer of damaged cells, softens hyperpigmentation and age spots, and evens out skin tone.
At the consultation we assess which concern is dominant – skin quality, volume loss or pigmentation – and build an individual protocol, often combining two methods.
What does the treatment look like?
The treatment is outpatient and takes 30-45 minutes. The hands are first treated with an antiseptic, then anaesthetic cream is applied, so the procedure is comfortable. The product is injected with fine needles or a cannula into the back of the hand, according to the agreed plan. After treatment the patient goes home immediately and resumes daily activities; mild swelling, redness or small bruises may occur and resolve within a few days.
Results and duration
With fillers and collagen stimulators, the first results are visible immediately – volume is restored, veins and tendons are less prominent – while the collagen-stimulating effect develops over the following weeks. Biorevitalisation and polynucleotides act gradually through a course of treatments, and a chemical peel evens out the tone and clears age spots over several weeks. Depending on the method, the effect lasts from several months up to two years; maintenance is planned individually.
Hand care after treatment
Skin remembers – so the result should be protected with daily care: regular use of hand cream, sun protection with a UV-factor cream throughout the year (not only in summer), and richer creams with urea or retinol in winter. Sun exposure is the main cause of age spots, so SPF is the simplest prevention.
Frequently asked questions about hand rejuvenation
Which method is best for hand rejuvenation?
It depends on the dominant concern: biorevitalisation and polynucleotides are best for dry, thin skin; fillers or Radiesse for prominent veins and volume loss; and a chemical peel for age spots. Most often we combine two methods.
Is the treatment painful?
Anaesthetic cream is applied before treatment, and the product is injected with fine needles or a cannula, so most patients feel only mild discomfort.
When will I see results?
Fillers and Radiesse give a visible result immediately, with additional improvement over the following weeks. Biorevitalisation, polynucleotides and peels act gradually, through a course of treatments.
How long does the effect last?
From several months (biorevitalisation) up to a year and longer (Radiesse, fillers), depending on the method and individual factors. Maintenance is planned at the consultation.
Can hand rejuvenation be combined with facial treatments?
Yes – it is often done in the same visit as face, neck or décolletage treatments, achieving a harmonious, complete rejuvenation result.
