The first 24-72 hours after a treatment

Immediately after a treatment the skin needs rest. The treated area is not touched or scratched; the skin is cleansed gently with lukewarm water, without rubbing. For the first days avoid everything that additionally heats or irritates the skin: saunas, hot baths, intense workouts, sunbathing and tanning beds.

During this period only soothing and regenerative products are used – creams and serums that rebuild the protective barrier and calm redness. Active ingredients (retinoids, acids, vitamin C) wait until the skin has fully settled.

Care by treatment type

  • After botox – a few hours without lying on the face or massaging the area; no intense workout the same day. Special skincare is not required, but gentle care and SPF always help.
  • After hyaluronic fillers – cold compresses if needed; no massaging or pressure on the area unless agreed otherwise; avoid saunas and sun in the first days.
  • After a chemical peel – the skin peels for a few days; do not pick at the flakes, hydrate generously and protect strictly from the sun for 6-8 weeks.
  • After microneedling – only a sterile, soothing serum and a repair cream in the first days; details in skincare after microneedling and peels.
  • After laser treatments – cool the area if needed, use the recommended regenerative cream and avoid the sun; post-laser skin is especially prone to pigmentation.

Sun protection after treatments

After a treatment the skin is temporarily more sensitive to UV radiation, so the risk of hyperpigmentation is highest precisely during recovery. Sun protection is therefore not optional but a mandatory part of the plan.

The rules: broad-spectrum SPF 50 every morning, reapplied every 2-3 hours when outdoors; avoidance of direct sun and tanning beds for at least 6-8 weeks after peels, microneedling and laser treatments; a hat or cap during longer time outside. After injectable treatments (botox, fillers) protection is daily, as always.

Ingredients: yes and no

Welcome during recovery: panthenol, ceramides, centella asiatica, hyaluronic acid and barrier-repairing lipids, plus gentle antioxidants after the first 2-3 days.

Wait: retinol and retinoids, AHA/BHA acids, high-percentage vitamin C, abrasive scrubs and self-tanners – these return once redness and sensitivity pass, usually after 5-7 days, and longer after stronger peels, as agreed.

Frequently asked questions about post-treatment care

Can I wear makeup after a treatment?

After injectable treatments usually the next day, applied carefully. After microneedling and peels wait until the skin closes – usually 24-72 hours.
