What is Easy Droxy Azelaic Peel?
Easy Droxy Azelaic is a superficial chemical peel based on alpha-hydroxy acids (AHA) and azelaic acid, formulated specifically for sensitive skin. It is intended for photo-damaged skin, as well as skin with rosacea and a tendency towards acne.
A specific gel is used that contains glycolic, citric, lactic and azelaic acids. The gel reduces the risk of desquamation, ensures safety and facilitates homogeneous application – it successfully dissolves the acids and gradually releases the active ingredients, also acting as an antioxidant in the fight against acne.
How does it work and what does it contain?
- Azelaic acid has a bactericidal and exfoliating effect – it blocks the formation of comedones and is particularly effective in all subtypes of rosacea. It is known for its good safety profile, is considered safe for use during pregnancy, and can be combined with most cosmetic ingredients without adverse reactions.
- Glycolic acid, derived from sugar cane, has the smallest molecular structure, which allows easier penetration into the skin. It dissolves dead cells on the skin surface, retains moisture and supports hydration, stimulates natural collagen synthesis and inhibits melanin formation.
- Lactic acid acts synergistically in the treatment of pigment spots by inhibiting melanin formation in melanocytes, and has an antioxidant effect.
- Citric acid also serves as a pH buffer that reduces skin irritation, acts as a cell energiser and contributes to the thickness of the viable (non-horny) epithelium.
