To give you the most pleasant experience and a feeling of satisfaction, you can take advantage of all the benefits of laser hair removal, reflected in long-lasting effects after the complete protocol that the doctor determines individually for each client. With this method of hair removal, the possibility of inflammation developing on the skin is reduced, there are no unwanted reactions in the treated area, and no stimulation of new hair growth. The absorbed laser beam travels via melanin, the pigment in the hair, to the hair root and destroys it.

The laser is an ideal solution that guarantees simple, painless, anti-allergenic, long-lasting hair removal as a whole – in seven treatments on average – without damage to the pores and the structure of the skin. The pigment melanin in the hair root absorbs the laser, or light, energy and transforms it into heat that destroys the follicle without damaging the surrounding tissue.

It is important to note that around 25% of hairs disappear in a single treatment, because the laser beam destroys a hair only when it is in the active growth phase.

What does the laser hair removal treatment involve?

Before the first treatment, the doctor examines the areas you want to treat, assesses the type and colour of your skin and hair, and determines your personal protocol – the number and schedule of treatments. During the treatment itself, the laser head passes over the target zone, and most clients feel only mild warmth. Smaller areas such as the upper lip are finished in a few minutes, while larger zones take longer. Afterwards you return to your usual activities, with aftercare recommendations. The hairs from the treated area fall out gradually, usually within one to two weeks after treatment.

Who is the treatment for, and when is it postponed?

Laser hair removal is intended for both women and men who want a long-term solution for unwanted hair, as well as those who struggle with ingrown hairs and inflammation after conventional hair removal. The advantage of Nd:YAG technology is that, with a professional assessment, it can also be used on darker skin types. Treatment is postponed during pregnancy, on skin recently exposed to the sun or sunbeds, over tattoos, active infections and skin damage in the treatment area, and during isotretinoin therapy. Be sure to inform the doctor about all medicines you take at the examination, as some can increase the skin’s sensitivity to light.

Preparing for laser hair removal

As for preparation, the hairs need to be 2-3 mm long, and before starting and during the protocol they should not be plucked – remove them with a razor, scissors or depilatory creams instead. It is also advisable to come to the treatment with your natural skin colour, without body milk or lotion applied. It is important to note that around 25% of hairs disappear in a single treatment, because the laser beam destroys a hair only when it is in the active growth phase. That is why the procedure is repeated a month after each treatment, given that hair growth within a single area is never synchronised. Their shedding from the follicles is noticeable one to two weeks after treatment, as part of the hair bulb dies off, while the rest atrophy after the first session of laser hair removal.

Recommendations after laser hair removal

It is recommended that the skin be protected with SPF 50 creams and not exposed to direct sunlight or sunbeds for the first seven days. How successful laser hair removal will be depends on the structure, thickness and strength of the hair, skin pigmentation, the area being treated, age, sex, hormonal balance and the use of certain medicines. The type of laser, as well as the experience, knowledge and skill of the doctor performing the procedure, are certainly of exceptional importance too.

Treatment with the latest technology

Treatment with the latest technology

At our centre we perform this procedure with the latest Fotona Nd:YAG short-pulse laser technology, which guarantees a painless and comfortable treatment. Its effects are long-lasting, from several months to several years, after which the procedure should be repeated because hair regenerates – a completely natural process. After laser hair removal the skin remains velvety and smooth, and if ingrown hairs and pustules once existed on the hair-covered surface, the client receives a lasting solution to the problem of excessive hairiness.

How much does laser hair removal cost?

The price depends on the area being treated and whether you choose a single treatment or a package. You can view current prices by area in the price list, and you receive a recommendation on the number of treatments for your skin and hair type at the examination.

Frequently asked questions about laser hair removal

Is laser hair removal painful?

Treatment with the Fotona Nd:YAG short-pulse laser is painless and comfortable; most clients feel only mild warmth in the treated area during the treatment.

How many treatments do I need?

Around 7 treatments one month apart are needed on average, because the laser destroys only hairs in the active growth phase, of which there are about 25% at any one time. The exact number depends on the area, hair structure and hormonal factors, so the protocol is determined individually.

Does the hair disappear for ever?

The effects are long-lasting and last from several months to several years. Some follicles can regenerate over time – a natural process – so the treatment is repeated as needed to maintain the result.

Is laser hair removal suitable for darker skin?

With correctly set parameters and a professional assessment, the Nd:YAG laser is also suitable for darker skin types, because its wavelength targets the hair root more deeply, with minimal absorption in the surface layers of the skin.

How do I prepare for treatment?

The hairs in the area should be 2-3 mm long and should not be plucked with tweezers or wax before and during the protocol – remove them with a razor or scissors. Come to the treatment with your natural skin colour, without body milk or lotion, and do not expose the area to the sun beforehand.
