What is Fotona4D®?

Fotona4D® is an innovative laser treatment that uses a unique combination of two complementary laser wavelengths to act on four different „dimensions“ of the skin, with the aim of rejuvenating and tightening it from the inside out. It is a non-surgical and non-invasive alternative for facial rejuvenation and tightening, with a natural-looking result.

Unlike injectable methods, laser lifting does not add volume from the outside; it stimulates the skin to renew its own collagen and elastin – the proteins responsible for firmness and elasticity. The treatment is comfortable, with no needles, bruising or swelling, and a recovery period is generally not needed.

How Fotona4D® works: 4 dimensions

Through the combined action of two medical lasers, with four different laser pulse lengths, different layers of the skin are treated:

  • 1D SmoothLiftin™ – treatment inside the oral cavity, where the laser energy triggers tightening processes in the jawline and around the lips; this intraoral rejuvenation is additionally reflected in the contours and volume of the face;
  • 2D FRAC3® – precise action on deeper irregularities, such as more pronounced lines and pigmentation, for better texture and a more even tone;
  • 3D PIANO® – even, safe heating of larger areas of skin, which contributes to a tightening effect and a firmer appearance;
  • 4D SupErficial™ – a gentle finishing laser peel that removes surface irregularities and restores the skin’s glow.

The controlled heating of the skin stimulates the processes associated with collagen and elastin synthesis, so the result builds gradually, in a natural way.

What can be treated?

Laser lifting can contribute to softening fine lines and wrinkles, better elasticity and skin tone, a more even complexion and smoother texture. It is also used for unwanted changes associated with photo-damage of the skin, in line with an individual assessment.

In addition to the face, the neck, décolletage, chin area, elbows and upper arms can be treated. For targeted tightening of the eyelids and the area around the eyes, there is also a dedicated protocol, Fotona SmoothEye®.

What does the treatment involve?

Before the first treatment, a consultation and skin assessment are carried out. The treatment itself takes 30-45 minutes, does not require anaesthesia and is described as a pleasant feeling of warmth. A special part of the treatment is intraoral rejuvenation of the cheek mucosa, which contributes to the lifting effect from the inside.

After treatment there may be temporary redness, while visible marks are generally not pronounced, so you can return to your everyday activities straight away.

How many treatments are needed, and when are results visible?

Depending on the condition and needs of your skin, a course of 3 to 4 treatments 4 to 6 weeks apart is advised. The first changes in the appearance and quality of the skin can be noticed after the first treatment – the skin looks refreshed and tighter – while the full effect develops gradually over 2-3 months, and improvement can continue for up to six months after the last treatment.

Autumn and winter can be a more suitable period for laser treatments because of the skin’s sensitivity to the sun; regardless of the season, protection with a high-SPF cream is important after treatment.

Who is the treatment for, and when is it postponed?

Fotona4D® laser lifting is intended for those who want a natural approach to rejuvenation and improving skin quality, without needles and without a recovery period. From the age of 30, when the first lines, spots, enlarged pores or dehydration appear, the laser can be a timely option – on its own or in combination with other procedures such as mesotherapy, chemical peels, thread lift or PRP treatment.

Treatment is postponed during pregnancy, in the presence of an active infection or inflammation in the treatment area, freshly burnt or sun-irritated skin, and with certain skin and systemic conditions and therapy that increases sensitivity to light – all of this is discussed at the consultation.

Recovery and aftercare

A recovery period is generally not needed. Temporary redness and a feeling of warmth may occur and pass quickly. The most important recommendation is appropriate sun protection, including a high-SPF cream, as well as avoiding sunbeds and intense sun exposure in the days after treatment.

How much does laser lifting cost?

The price depends on the area – face, face and neck, or face, neck and décolletage – as well as the overall treatment plan. You can view current prices, including protocols such as Fotona SmoothEye® and Fotona Deep Rejuvenation, in the price list.
