Teeth Straightening – Clear Aligners

Woman inserting a clear aligner for teeth straightening

Srpska verzija | Русский

A straighter smile without metal braces. Clear aligners are transparent, individually made trays that gradually guide your teeth into their planned position. They are almost invisible, you remove them for meals and brushing, and the entire journey to your new smile is mapped out in advance. At ESTERA, every aligner treatment is supervised by a dentist – from the first examination to retention.

What are clear aligners?

Clear aligners, transparent foils and "invisible braces" are three names for the same treatment: a series of thin, transparent trays made precisely for your teeth. Each aligner in the series moves your teeth by a fraction of a millimetre, and as you switch from one to the next, your teeth are guided step by step into the planned position. Unlike fixed braces, there are no wires, no brackets and no tightening.

Who are aligners for?

Aligners are the best choice for people who want straighter teeth without a visible appliance. They work best for mild to moderate irregularities: crowded or rotated teeth, small gaps between teeth and mild crowding of the lower front teeth. For more pronounced irregularities and bite problems, another orthodontic approach is more effective – after the examination we will honestly tell you what suits your case best.

What does aligner treatment at ESTERA look like?

  • Examination and assessment – we examine your teeth and bite and assess whether aligners are the right therapy for you.
  • 3D scan and treatment plan – a digital 3D scan of your teeth, with no classic impressions, is used to make a precise, phase-by-phase tooth-movement plan.
  • Your aligner set – you receive a series of individually made aligners; each is worn for about two weeks before moving to the next one.
  • Check-ups – short regular check-ups during treatment, so that every phase goes according to plan.
  • Retention – once treatment is complete, a retention aligner protects the result while the teeth stabilise in their new position.

Why do patients choose aligners over fixed braces?

  • Almost invisible – transparent material; most people will not notice you are in treatment.
  • Removable – take them out to eat and brush your teeth.
  • No diet changes – no forbidden foods, because you remove the aligner at meals.
  • Easier hygiene – brush and floss as usual, with no wires and brackets trapping plaque.
  • Comfort – smooth and thin, with no metal parts rubbing the cheeks and gums.
  • A predictable plan – you know in advance how many phases the treatment has and what each of them does.

How long are aligners worn and how long does treatment take?

Aligners are worn 20 to 22 hours a day – this is the single most important condition for success. Each aligner is changed after one to two weeks, and active treatment lasts 6 to 12 months on average, depending on the case. Mild pressure in the first days of each new aligner means it is working. After active treatment, a retention aligner is worn at night so the teeth do not drift back – it protects the result long term.

How much does teeth straightening with aligners cost?

The price depends on how much movement your case requires, so the exact figure is given at the examination, together with your treatment plan – before any decision. See our dental price list. We accept cash and Visa, Mastercard and DinaCard cards.

For a complete smile

Many patients finish their new smile with aesthetic dentistry treatments such as whitening or composite veneers after straightening. If you are thinking about a complete smile change, we make a joint plan at the examination.

Frequently asked questions

Is wearing aligners painful?

No. Most patients feel only mild pressure in the first days of each new aligner – a sign that it is moving the teeth. After a few days, most people barely notice it.

How many hours a day do I need to wear the aligners?

20 to 22 hours a day. They are removed only for meals and brushing. The success of the treatment depends above all on consistent wear.

How long does aligner treatment take?

On average 6 to 12 months, depending on the complexity of the case and how consistently the aligners are worn. You receive a precise estimate at the examination, with your treatment plan.

Are aligners visible while I wear them?

Aligners are transparent and most people do not notice them in everyday conversation. Some teeth occasionally need small attachments (tooth-coloured dots) that help precise movement.

What is needed after the treatment ends?

A retention aligner is worn at night so the teeth stay in their new position. It is a standard part of every orthodontic treatment, whether with aligners or fixed braces.

Can I pay by card?

Yes. Besides cash, we accept Visa, Mastercard and DinaCard cards.
