What are skin boosters?
Skin boosters are injectable products based on hyaluronic acid, often combined with amino acids, vitamins and antioxidants, designed for deep hydration and renewal of skin quality. Unlike hyaluronic acid fillers, which restore volume and fill wrinkles, skin boosters are applied into the middle layers of the skin and act on its hydration, elasticity, tone and glow – without changing the facial contours.
Over time, under the influence of age and external factors, the skin loses collagen and hyaluronic acid: it becomes drier, thinner and less elastic, and fine lines and a tired appearance set in. Skin boosters are one of the most natural ways to restore hydration, freshness and a healthy glow – whether as prevention of the first signs of ageing or as a treatment for already visible changes.
How do skin boosters work?
Applied with fine needles directly into the skin, the active ingredients reach where creams and serums cannot. Hyaluronic acid intensively binds water and provides deep hydration, while amino acids, vitamins and antioxidants nourish the skin and stimulate its renewal processes. The skin’s own collagen synthesis is also accelerated, so skin quality improves from within:
- the skin is deeply hydrated, which is key to its freshness and glow,
- elasticity, smoothness and tone are improved,
- fine lines and wrinkles are softened and skin ageing is slowed down.
Who are skin boosters for?
Skin boosters are a natural choice for anyone who wants to remove the first signs of ageing and skin fatigue, improve hydration or slow down further ageing. They are especially recommended for dehydrated, dry and thin skin. The face, neck, decolletage and hands can be treated, and every plan is made individually, according to the skin condition and the patient’s goals.
What does the treatment look like?
After the consultation and skin assessment – its quality, degree of hydration and firmness – the product that best suits each patient’s skin type is selected. The skin is thoroughly cleansed, anaesthetic cream is applied, and the product is then injected into the dermis, the middle layer of the skin, using very fine needles. The procedure takes about 30 minutes.
There is no downtime – you return to your daily activities immediately. Mild redness or swelling may appear at the injection sites and resolves within a few hours. Make-up and heavy sweating are not recommended for the first 12 hours, and tanning beds, saunas and direct sun exposure should be avoided in the first days after the treatment.
What are the results?
An improvement in the skin’s appearance is visible immediately after the treatment, and the full effect develops over the following days and weeks as hydration deepens and collagen synthesis accelerates. The skin becomes hydrated, tighter and more elastic, with a more even texture and a natural glow. The duration of the effect depends on the product and the skin condition; to maintain the results, one to two treatments per year are usually recommended.
Which skin boosters do we use?
At our clinic we use registered, high-quality products, and the choice depends on the skin type and condition:
- RRS HA Long Lasting – a hybrid skin booster: cross-linked hyaluronic acid in a biorevitalising solution with 15 amino acids, for dehydrated skin and all types of wrinkles on the face, neck, decolletage and hands;
- Cellbooster – stabilised complexes of non-crosslinked hyaluronic acid, amino acids and vitamins (Suisselle, Switzerland), in four variants for the face, neck, decolletage and hands, as well as the scalp and hair.
Skin boosters can be a stand-alone treatment, but they also combine well with other procedures – chemical peels, hyaluronic acid fillers and laser treatments – within an individual rejuvenation plan.
How much do skin booster treatments cost?
The price depends on the product and the treatment plan – see the price list; the exact plan is determined during the consultation after the skin assessment.
Frequently asked questions about skin boosters
What is the difference between skin boosters and hyaluronic acid fillers?
Skin boosters are applied into the middle layers of the skin and act on its hydration, elasticity and quality, without changing the facial contours. Hyaluronic acid fillers are injected deeper, restore volume and fill wrinkles. The two are often combined within the same plan.
Is the treatment painful?
Anaesthetic cream is applied before the treatment and the injections are made with fine needles, so the treatment is well tolerated.
When are the results visible?
An improvement is visible immediately after the treatment, and the full effect develops over the following weeks as hydration deepens and the skin renews.
How long do the results last?
It depends on the product and the skin condition; the effect lasts for months, and one to two treatments per year are usually recommended for maintenance.
How many treatments are needed?
It depends on the skin type and condition. Some products are applied in a course of several treatments spaced two to three weeks apart, followed by maintenance – the plan is determined during the consultation.
