What is Fotona LipLase?
LipLase is a non-invasive laser lip treatment on the Fotona platform, intended for those who want fuller, better-defined lips without needles and without introducing foreign materials. Unlike hyaluronic acid fillers, which add volume directly – more on the page about lip augmentation with hyaluronic acid – LipLase stimulates your own collagen regeneration, so the lips gradually take on a fuller, more natural look.
The treatment additionally improves the tone and elasticity of the skin around the lips, softening fine lines and giving the perioral area a more youthful appearance.
How does LipLase work?
To stimulate collagen at every tissue level, the treatment is performed from two approaches: intraorally, on the lip mucosa, and externally, on the skin of the lips and the surrounding area. The laser heats the deeper tissue layers in a controlled way, triggering the collagen regeneration process. The effect is therefore gradual: the first change is visible immediately after treatment, while the full result builds over a course.
What does the treatment involve?
The treatment takes around 15 minutes. Most patients feel a mild warmth, and a surface anaesthetic can be applied beforehand if desired to keep any discomfort to a minimum. No downtime is needed, so you can return to your daily activities straight away.
Who is it for, and when is it postponed?
LipLase is a good choice for those who want a gradual, natural result without injections, and for those seeking subtle lip definition together with rejuvenation of the area around them. The treatment is postponed in the case of active herpes on the lips or infection in the treatment area, and during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
How many treatments are needed, and how long does the effect last?
The effects are visible immediately after treatment, while a longer-lasting result – maintained for up to 12 months – calls for a course of treatments spaced about 4 weeks apart. The plan is set individually, according to the anatomy of your lips and the result you want.
How much does LipLase cost?
See our treatment price list for the current price; the course plan and exact estimate are given at the consultation.
Frequently asked questions about LipLase
Is LipLase painful?
The treatment is well tolerated; a mild warmth is felt, and a surface anaesthetic can be applied if desired.
What is the difference between LipLase and lip fillers?
Fillers add volume directly with hyaluronic acid, while LipLase uses the laser to stimulate your own collagen regeneration – no needles, no foreign materials. The choice depends on your goal and anatomy, and is agreed at the consultation.
When is the result visible?
The first change is visible immediately, while the full effect builds over the course of treatments as collagen renews.
How long does the effect last?
With a course of treatments the effect is maintained for up to 12 months, individually.
Can LipLase be combined with fillers?
At the doctor’s assessment, laser treatment and fillers can be combined in an individual plan, in line with your goal and the anatomy of your lips.
