What is the Easy TCA Peel?
The Easy TCA Peel is a chemical peel based on trichloroacetic acid (TCA) which, in combination with a specially developed skincare cream, removes the damaged surface layers of the skin and reveals the new, healthier layer beneath. It is used for sun damage, acne, fine lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, liver spots and other visible signs of ageing.
Once the old skin has peeled off, the new skin has a smoother texture and a more even colour. The peel is suitable for all skin types – fine, normal, greasy or thick – as well as for darker phototypes.
Who is it for and which areas are treated?
The same ageing and sun-damage changes that appear on the face are often present on the neck, chest and hands. The Easy TCA Peel can be performed successfully on these non-facial areas as well, which makes it a good choice when several areas need to be evened out at the same time.
What do the treatment and recovery look like?
Treatment starts with a consultation where your skin type and condition are assessed and the expected results are discussed; if needed, the skin is prepared with appropriate topical products. No anaesthesia is necessary – the TCA solution is applied to the skin, with a brief warm and stinging sensation lasting two to three minutes.
After the treatment, the top layers of the skin dry up and peel off over several days. Most people recover in 5-7 days; during this time the skin looks as if it has mild sunburn, without pain. The new skin and the improvements become visible one to two weeks after the peel. A few sessions are usually necessary to achieve the desired effect.
The skin is more sensitive to sunlight for at least 6-8 weeks after the peel, and it must not be exposed to direct sun for the first two weeks. Daily use of a sunscreen (at least SPF 25) and avoiding strong sunlight are mandatory – even in winter.
