What is NightLase?

NightLase is a laser therapy recommended when snoring results from tissue vibration in the back of the throat. The treatment reduces the severity of snoring and significantly improves sleep quality – patients commonly report reduced snoring, easier breathing, better sleep, and improved daytime alertness and concentration. For patients with obstructive sleep apnea (short interruptions in breathing during sleep), NightLase can also support other treatments.

Its effectiveness and safety are supported by clinical studies, and improvements are often noted by partners as well, who report more restful sleep.

How does NightLase work?

The therapy uses an Er:YAG laser in the special Fotona SMOOTH mode to gently and controllably heat the soft palate and the area around the tonsils. This heating tightens the soft tissues, reducing vibration during breathing and helping keep the airway open. The mode is designed to be gentle on delicate oral tissues while delivering sufficient heat for meaningful results – as new collagen forms in the tissue, the effect is further consolidated over the following weeks.

No special preparation, anesthesia or downtime is required – you return to your daily activities immediately. Results typically last up to a year or longer, and the treatment can be repeated if symptoms begin to return.
