Baby teeth hold the space for permanent teeth, teach a child to chew and speak properly and shape jaw development. Decay in a baby tooth does not politely wait for the tooth to fall out — it hurts, spreads and can damage the permanent tooth bud beneath. That is why baby teeth are filled, and the sooner the better.
How we do it: first the child gets used to the practice — short, playful, no instruments. Then the tooth is numbed (gel, and gentle anaesthetic when needed), the decay is removed and the tooth restored with a tooth-coloured material. Short visits, everything in one appointment.
Deeper decay? Then we treat the baby tooth (pulpotomy) or, when it cannot be saved, recommend baby tooth extraction — always with a plan to keep the space for the permanent tooth.
Afterwards: your child continues the day as normal; we advise on first-hour meals and home care. At check-ups we monitor the fillings and protect teeth with fissure sealants and fluoride.
Price: see the dental price list or call us before your visit.
Frequently asked questions
Why fill a tooth that will fall out?
Because it holds the space for the permanent tooth. A baby tooth lost or sick too early most often means crooked permanent teeth later.
Does it hurt?
No — the tooth is always numbed first, and we work at the child’s pace.
From what age do you see children?
From age 3.
What if my child is afraid?
The first visit is a get-to-know-you with no treatment at all. We work only once the child agrees — that is our standard.
