A new facade for your teeth – thinner than a nail, strong as enamel. Ceramic veneers are thin plates of high-quality ceramics bonded to the front of a tooth, changing its colour, shape and position. It is the most requested treatment in aesthetic dentistry – with minimal tooth preparation it gives a result that looks like your own, perfect enamel.

What are ceramic veneers?
A veneer is a ceramic plate about half a millimetre thick, made in a laboratory precisely to the impression of your tooth. It is bonded permanently to the front surface and takes over the role of the „facade“: it covers stains, cracked enamel, small fractures, gaps and irregular shapes. Ceramics imitate the translucency of natural enamel, so a veneer reacts to light like a real tooth – that is the difference you see in person.
Ceramic or composite veneers?
Composite veneers are shaped directly in the mouth, in one visit and at a lower price – good as a quick solution and for younger patients. Ceramic veneers are made in a laboratory, take two to three visits, but are more resistant to staining, keep their shine longer and last longer. At the examination we will honestly tell you which option makes sense for your case and budget.
Who are veneers for?
- Stains and colour changes that whitening cannot solve (tetracycline stains, fluorosis, a non-vital tooth).
- Cracked or worn enamel on the front teeth.
- Gaps between the front teeth (diastema) without orthodontics.
- Minor irregularities of shape and position – an uneven edge, a tilted or shorter tooth.
What does the procedure look like?
- Consultation and plan – smile analysis, choice of shape and shade; assessment of how many veneers go into the plan.
- Preparation – with minimal grinding of the front surface (under local anesthesia), an impression or a digital scan is taken; you receive temporary veneers.
- Laboratory fabrication – made to measure by technicians, with control of the shade and the translucency of the edge.
- Try-in and bonding – the veneers are tried in first, and only when you are satisfied are they bonded permanently.
How long do they last and how are they maintained?
With good hygiene and avoiding biting hard objects (pens, nails, opening packaging with your teeth), ceramic veneers last many years, often over a decade. Brush them like your own teeth, come for regular check-ups, and if you clench your teeth in your sleep, a protective night splint is recommended.
How much do ceramic veneers cost?
The price depends on the number of veneers and the complexity of the case, so the exact price is given at the examination together with the plan. See also the dental price list. Payment is possible in cash and by Visa, Mastercard and DinaCard cards.
For a complete smile
Veneers are often part of a bigger plan – with whitening of the remaining teeth or within a Hollywood smile. At the consultation we look at the whole smile, not only individual teeth.

Frequently asked questions
Do teeth have to be ground down for veneers?
For ceramic veneers a minimal preparation of the front surface is done – on average half a millimetre. With a favourable arrangement, no-prep veneers are also considered.
Do veneers look artificial?
No – ceramics imitate the translucency of natural enamel, and you choose the shape and shade together with the doctor. A well-made veneer is indistinguishable from a healthy tooth.
How many veneers do I need?
It depends on how many teeth show when you laugh – most often 6 to 10 in the upper jaw. The exact number is determined at the smile analysis.
Can a veneer break off?
Rarely, but possible when biting hard objects or after trauma. That is why you receive clear instructions, and for night-time grinding a night splint.
Can veneers be placed on all teeth?
Technically on most, but they make sense in the smile zone. Side teeth are crowned where needed or stay natural with whitening.
