Laser eyelid tightening and rejuvenation of the eye area

1. Fotona SmoothEye® (Er:YAG laser)

Fotona SmoothEye® is a non-ablative treatment in a special SMOOTH® mode, intended for action on the deeper layers of the skin without ablation of the surface layer.

  • How it works: Controlled thermal pulses act on the deeper layers of the skin, without conventional damage to the skin’s surface and without bleeding.
  • Advantages: The treatment is designed as a comfortable procedure with a short recovery period and can be a good choice for mild to moderate signs of ageing.

2. Fractional CO2 laser

The fractional CO2 laser creates microscopic thermal zones in the skin, which stimulates the processes of tissue renewal and remodelling.

  • How it works: It acts more intensively on the structure of the skin and can contribute to its tightening and renewal.
  • Advantages: It can be an option for more pronounced wrinkles and changes in skin texture and firmness.

Who is the treatment for? (Indications)

Laser eyelid tightening is intended for those who want to refresh the appearance of the eye area and improve skin tone without conventional surgery.

Laser tightening vs. surgical blepharoplasty

Important note: Laser tightening cannot replace surgical correction in patients with significant excess skin that obstructs the visual field, pronounced fat pads under the eyes, or true ptosis – drooping of the eyelid due to muscle weakness.

What does the treatment and recovery involve?

  1. Preparation: An anaesthetic cream is applied to clean skin to reduce discomfort during the treatment.
  2. Procedure: The treatment takes between 20 and 30 minutes. A pleasant, mild warmth may be felt during the procedure.
  3. Aftercare: Mild redness, swelling and discreet peeling of the skin may occur over the following 3 to 6 days. The need for time off work depends on the individual reaction of your skin.
  4. Recommended number of treatments: For an optimal plan, a course of 2 to 4 treatments, 4 to 8 weeks apart, is usually recommended, in line with an assessment of the condition of your skin.
