The fine diagonal lines across the bridge and sides of your nose that appear when you laugh or scrunch – bunny lines – are often the last thing you notice and the first to reveal muscle activity. The good news: this is one of the quickest corrections in aesthetic medicine, with no downtime.

What are bunny lines?
Bunny lines are the fine diagonal or horizontal lines that appear across the bridge and sides of the nose when we laugh or scrunch it. They are created by the nasalis muscle, which takes part in nasal mimicry [1]. In some people they are only visible in motion; over the years they can become etched into the resting face.
Why they appear – and why they sometimes become more visible after Botox
Mimic muscles work as a team. When Botox reduces the activity of one group (for example the forehead or glabella), neighboring muscles take over part of the work – so bunny lines can become more noticeable only after a successful treatment of another zone [1,2]. That is not a failed treatment, but a sign that mimicry should be assessed as a whole. That is why at consultation we assess all facial zones, not only the one currently bothering you.
What the treatment looks like
After assessing your mimicry, botulinum toxin is injected in very small doses at several points along the nasalis muscle [2,3]. The procedure takes about ten minutes and requires no downtime. The anatomy of this zone is delicate – muscles that elevate the upper lip are close by – so a precise dose and placement make the difference between a natural smile and a „frozen“ look [2,3].
Who it is for, and when to wait
For people bothered by lines on the nose in motion or at rest – often as an add-on to treatment of the forehead, glabella or eye area. Treatment is postponed in pregnancy and breastfeeding, active infection in the area and known hypersensitivity to product ingredients.
Results and duration
First changes appear in 3-5 days, the full effect within two weeks. Duration is usually 3-4 months; maintenance is planned as needed, often in the same visit as other zones.
Risks and aftercare
Most common are temporary small bruises or redness at the injection points. Do not rub the zone for the first hours; avoid sauna and intense training on the first day. Rare side effects (such as a temporary change in lip movement if the toxin reaches neighboring muscles) resolve on their own [2].
Price
Bunny lines are most often treated as a small additional zone alongside Botox of the forehead, glabella or eye area – in the same visit. See the price list for the exact price; we confirm the plan at consultation.
