aesPlla: a collagen stimulator for a firmer, more rested face

A face that has lost fullness does not need a dramatic change to look rested again. aesPlla is an injectable collagen stimulator based on poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) that prompts your own body to build new collagen, so your features change gradually and naturally, without an “overdone” look. At ESTERA in Belgrade, aesPlla starts with a consultation: our doctor assesses your face and recommends a plan built around you.

Why patients choose aesPlla
- A natural look: the change develops gradually over the following weeks and months.
- A firmer, fuller face: the goal is restored volume and better quality of the treated area.
- Long-lasting effect: in studies of PLLA treatments, results can last more than two years.
- A plan for you: area, amount and number of sessions are chosen at your consultation, not by template.
- Price: based on your treatment plan and the current price list.
How does aesPlla work?
PLLA is a biodegradable material. After injection it stimulates the production of new collagen, the protein that gives skin its firmness and support. That is why the result is not built in one day: week after week the face gains fullness and firmness, and people around you often notice that you look rested, not that you “had something done.”
aesPlla does not simply hydrate the surface of the skin. It works deeper, which makes it a good choice when volume loss bothers you, not only dry or tired skin.
Who may aesPlla suit?
A conversation about aesPlla makes sense if you notice your face losing fullness, your contours changing or your skin looking less firm, and you want a change that looks natural. We do not decide by age alone. We look at tissue quality, the degree of volume loss and your expectations.
If you need a result for an event in a few days, it is better to choose a faster option together, for example a hyaluronic filler. The consultation shows what is the right choice for your face.
Which areas of the face can be treated?
The plan covers selected areas of the face where the goal is gradual correction of volume loss. Your doctor chooses the exact area, technique and amount at the consultation, following the instructions for the specific product.
For use outside the face, such as the neck, decolletage or body, we discuss it separately: if the use is outside the manufacturer’s instructions, it is off-label, and we tell you so openly.
What does the treatment look like?
We start with a conversation about what you want to change, your health and any earlier treatments. Your doctor builds the plan, explains what to expect and chooses how to apply the product. The product is prepared according to its instructions and placed in the planned areas, and we adapt comfort measures to you. Before you leave you get clear aftercare instructions and a follow-up appointment.

When are results visible and how many treatments are needed?
Distributor information for aesPlla states that changes may be noticed from about the fourth week. That is a guideline, not a deadline for everyone. The result grows gradually, so the real picture comes after several weeks, not on day one.
The number and spacing of treatments depend on your starting point, your goal and how your tissue responds. At the follow-up we assess the change and decide the next step together, so you do not pay for more than you need.
In studies of PLLA treatments the effect can last more than two years. That is not a guarantee for every patient, but it shows why PLLA is chosen when you want a longer-lasting change.
aesPlla, Lanluma, Radiesse or a hyaluronic filler?
aesPlla and Lanluma belong to the PLLA group but are not the same product. Radiesse is a different collagen stimulator, based on calcium hydroxylapatite. Hyaluronic fillers give more immediate correction of volume and contour.
There is no product that is “best” for everyone. There is the one that is best for your face and goal, and we find it together at the consultation.
Aftercare and follow-up
After treatment you may have swelling, redness, bruising and tenderness, which are expected and temporary. Less often, nodules or delayed reactions are possible, which is why you receive aftercare instructions and a follow-up visit is part of the plan. Before treatment, tell us about medical conditions, medications, allergies, pregnancy or breastfeeding and earlier fillers. If massage is part of your protocol, we will show you how and for how long. Report any unusual reaction to the clinic right away. More on nodules: PLLA nodules: prevention, diagnosis and management.

Frequently asked questions
When will I see a result?
The injection does not give an instant effect: changes develop gradually. Distributor information for aesPlla states that they may be noticed from about the fourth week, with differences between patients. Initial fullness after treatment is temporary and does not show the final result.
Can aesPlla replace a filler?
When the goal is gradual volume restoration and a firmer look, aesPlla is the right direction to discuss. When you want immediate shaping of a specific area, a hyaluronic filler is often chosen, and the two approaches are often combined. We decide at your consultation.
How many treatments will I need?
The number and spacing depend on your starting point, goal and tissue response. At the consultation you get a concrete proposal, and at the follow-up we assess whether another step is needed.
How long does the effect last?
In studies of PLLA treatments, the effect can last more than two years, but duration varies by person. We plan maintenance around your actual result, not the calendar.
Are aesPlla and Lanluma the same?
Both are PLLA-based, but they are not the same product. At the consultation we explain the difference and choose what suits your face.
Is the treatment safe?
A doctor performs the injection after an examination, with aftercare instructions. Swelling, redness, bruising and tenderness may follow, and less often nodules or delayed reactions, which is why we schedule a follow-up. Every treatment has risks, so we discuss them before you decide.
How much does aesPlla cost?
The price depends on the area, amount of product and number of visits. See the current price list; we confirm the final amount at the consultation, before treatment.
What does the literature say?
The literature on PLLA supports gradual improvement of volume and of how the treated tissue looks. A 2024 systematic review also points to limits in the quality of evidence, and studies of the whole PLLA group do not automatically apply to every brand or protocol, so we always assess results individually.
