Juvederm Volite: Hydrated, Smoother Skin

Does your skin look tired and dry even when you sleep well and use a good cream? Juvederm Volite is designed for that: hydration that works below the surface, for skin that looks fresher, smoother and more elastic. Your face stays yours – only the quality of the skin changes.

Volite is a skin booster from Allergan Aesthetics. Unlike fillers that add volume and shape the face, it is placed into the skin itself and works on skin quality.

At a glance

  • Goal: hydrated, smoother, more elastic skin and softer fine lines
  • How: micro-injections into the skin (intradermal), with fine needles
  • Gel: hyaluronic acid with lidocaine for comfort, according to the manufacturer
  • Who: adults aged 18 and over
  • Duration of effect: up to 9 months according to the manufacturer; depends on your skin and lifestyle

Why patients ask for Juvederm Volite

With age, skin holds water less well and becomes thinner, duller and less elastic. According to the manufacturer, Juvederm Volite uses hyaluronic acid to increase skin hydration and improve smoothness and elasticity, and it acts in the deeper layers of the skin. Patients usually choose it when they want:

  • skin that looks rested and glowing, never „done“
  • fine lines and surface wrinkles to look softer
  • a better base before other anti-aging treatments

Which areas are usually treated

Skin boosters are most often considered for the face and neck, and, depending on assessment, the décolleté and hands. We decide the exact areas at your consultation, based on your skin and what bothers you most.

What the treatment is like

  1. Consultation. We examine your skin, listen to what you want and suggest a plan.
  2. Treatment. Dr Nenad Stanković performs it with fine needles, and the gel already contains lidocaine. It is a short treatment and we adapt your comfort to you.
  3. Afterwards. You can usually return to daily activities; mild redness is possible.
  4. Follow-up. We agree whether you need a repeat, and when.

How many sessions you need and how far apart depends on your skin and your goal, so we agree this in person.

What to expect afterwards

Redness, swelling, bruising or small lumps at the injection points are possible; according to the manufacturer’s leaflet, reactions can last up to a week. The manufacturer advises no makeup for at least 12 hours, and avoiding prolonged sun and UV exposure, saunas and steam rooms for two weeks. You receive detailed instructions after your treatment.

Who Volite is not for

According to the manufacturer’s leaflet, the treatment is not done during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with active skin inflammation or infection (such as acne or herpes), with allergy to hyaluronic acid or lidocaine, or with a tendency to scarring. We review medications and conditions you should tell us about (for example blood thinners) at the consultation. It is not combined on the same day with laser, deep peels or dermabrasion.

Juvederm Volite or a classic hyaluronic filler

Volite is for skin quality, not for reshaping the face. If lost volume, contours or lips are what bother you, a classic hyaluronic filler is the better fit. Often the right answer is a combination, and we decide together. More on both approaches: skin boosters, hyaluronic fillers, and the overview of the whole range on the Juvederm fillers page.
