Restylane Skinboosters: fresher, smoother skin without added volume

Want skin that looks rested, feels smoother and has a natural glow, without fuller cheeks or different facial features? Restylane Skinboosters focus on skin quality: hydration, elasticity and fine lines. The goal is fresher-looking skin, not a different face.

  • Purpose: hydration and improved skin quality.
  • Options: Vital and Vital Light, selected for the skin and treatment area.
  • Procedure: approximately 15-45 minutes, depending on the area.
  • Plan: an initial course followed by individual maintenance.
  • Recovery: temporary swelling, redness and bruising are possible.

What can Restylane Skinboosters improve?

If your skin looks dry or tired, or feels rough, this approach may help improve hydration, smoothness and elasticity. Fine lines may become less noticeable. Skinboosters do not replace a lift or targeted volume restoration. The choice starts with what you want to improve.

Hydration from within, rather than added volume

The products contain stabilized hyaluronic acid, which binds water within the skin. Galderma describes its technology as SB-NASHA. Unlike fillers designed to shape lips or facial contours, the focus here is texture and hydration. If volume loss or sagging is also a concern, a broader plan can be discussed at your consultation.

Vital or Vital Light: what is the difference?

Vital contains 20 mg/mL of stabilized hyaluronic acid; Vital Light contains 12 mg/mL. The lidocaine versions also contain 0.3% of this local anesthetic. Galderma describes Vital as an option for regular to thicker skin and Vital Light for thinner, more delicate skin. A higher concentration is not automatically a better choice: skin thickness, the area and your goal matter.

Which areas can be considered?

The face, neck, chest and hands may be considered, depending on the assessment and selected product. Thin skin and the eye area need particular care. Skinboosters are not a universal solution for dark circles, under-eye bags or swelling.

What happens during treatment?

The consultation covers your goals, previous procedures, allergies and medications. After assessment and skin cleansing, small amounts of product are injected. Lidocaine in the relevant versions can reduce discomfort; additional numbing may be considered. Treatment generally takes about 15-45 minutes.

How many sessions will I need?

Galderma’s patient page describes 1-3 initial sessions four weeks apart, followed by maintenance every 6-12 months. The instructions for the individual products recommend three sessions at four-week intervals. These are not one-size-fits-all packages: your plan follows the selected product, skin assessment and response.

When will I see results, and how long do they last?

Changes develop over the following weeks, and are easier to assess once the initial swelling settles. Improvement may last for months; duration depends on the area, product and initial course. A 2017 expert consensus supported by Galderma describes individual selection of Vital/Vital Light and gradual skin-quality improvement. It does not promise the same result for every patient.

Recovery and aftercare

Redness, swelling, tenderness, bruising or small injection-site bumps may last several days, sometimes longer. Avoid scheduling treatment immediately before an important event. Avoid excessive sun, tanning lamps and extreme temperatures until initial swelling and redness resolve, and follow your individual aftercare advice. Do not stop prescribed medication on your own.

When is treatment not the right choice?

Active skin infection or inflammation must be addressed first. Severe allergies, bleeding disorders, medications affecting clotting and previous procedures require assessment. Safety during pregnancy, breastfeeding and in people under 18 has not been established. Less common complications include infection, persistent nodules and blood-vessel injury. Severe or unusual pain, pale or discolored skin, or changes in vision require urgent medical assessment.

Cost and your treatment plan

Cost depends on the area, amount of product and number of sessions. See the ESTERA price list and discuss the proposed plan and its cost at your consultation.

Frequently asked questions

Is this the same as a hyaluronic acid filler?

Both may use hyaluronic acid, but the goals differ. Skinboosters focus on skin quality; volumizing and contouring fillers have a different role.

Will my face look fuller?

Adding volume is not the goal. Temporary swelling after injections is still possible.

Is Vital Light only for younger people?

No. Skin thickness, condition and the treatment area matter more than age alone.

Can I go straight back to work?

Many people can continue everyday activities, but redness, swelling or bruising may be visible. Allow time for recovery.

Can it be combined with other treatments?

It may be part of a broader plan. Treatment selection and timing are decided at the consultation.
