Biorevitalisation at a glance
- What it treats: dry and dehydrated skin, loss of tone and elasticity, fine lines, uneven tone and a tired-looking complexion
- Principle: an injectable method that delivers active substances (non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid, amino acids, peptides) directly into the dermis, stimulating the skin’s natural regeneration
- Treatment time: 30-45 minutes, with a local anaesthetic cream
- Recovery: minimal; mild redness or pinpoint injection marks resolve within a few hours to 24 hours
- Number of sessions: usually a course of 3-4, spaced 3-4 weeks apart; with certain formulations one treatment is enough
- Price: depends on the product chosen – see the price list
What is biorevitalisation?
Biorevitalisation (natural revitalisation) is an injectable method of deep skin regeneration. Its goal is to restore intensive hydration, an even tone, natural elasticity and firmness to the skin. Unlike treatments that change facial features or add volume, biorevitalisation acts on the quality of the skin itself from within – it slows the ageing process, improves texture and renews its inner structure. The procedure is equally effective in women and men.
Why does the skin lose its freshness?
Skin ageing begins at a deep cellular level, within the dermis:
- Decline in hyaluronic acid and collagen: after the age of 25, the natural synthesis of hyaluronic acid and collagen begins to fall.
- Reduced fibroblast activity: the cells responsible for producing elastin and collagen become less active, contributing to loss of tone, thinning of the skin and the first lines.
- Loss of essential nutrients: levels of essential amino acids and antioxidants also fall, so the skin retains moisture less easily and becomes more sensitive to external influences.
- External factors: UV radiation, pollution, stress, smoking and an inadequate diet further accelerate tissue breakdown and impair the skin’s protective barrier.
How does it work, and which products do we use?
By delivering active substances directly into the dermis, the injectable method stimulates hydration and the natural processes of regeneration. Hyaluronic acid has a pronounced ability to bind water, contributing to better hydrated and firmer-looking skin. Depending on the condition of the skin and the goal of treatment, different formulations are used:
- Non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid – for deep hydration and renewal of dry, dehydrated skin.
- Combined cocktails with amino acids and peptides (e.g. CELLBOOSTER) – to support collagen synthesis and renewal of the skin’s structure.
- Biostimulators and bioremodellers (e.g. Profhilo) – highly concentrated hyaluronic acid that stimulates the tissue and contributes to better skin firmness and a mild tightening effect.
- Long-lasting skin boosters (e.g. Juvéderm Volite, Restylane Vital) – for longer-lasting smoothness, better texture and radiance.
- Products with DMAE and antioxidants – to improve tone and support protection against oxidative stress.
Indications and treatment areas
Biorevitalisation is used for:
- dry, dehydrated and thin skin;
- loss of elasticity and tone, fine lines and wrinkles;
- uneven tone and a tired, dull appearance („smoker’s skin“);
- enlarged pores and acne-prone skin;
- dark circles and scars, including acne scars;
- skin damaged by the sun, sunbeds or stress;
- skin recovery after aggressive treatments such as lasers and chemical peels.
In addition to the face, the treatment can be applied to areas particularly exposed to external influences and ageing-related changes: the neck and décolletage, the hands (to soften dryness and a withered appearance), the abdomen, upper arms and inner thighs, knees and elbows.
When is the best time for treatment? Preventatively from the age of 25 (preserving the skin’s resources and deep hydration), correctively and regeneratively from 30 (tone, lines, structural renewal). Seasonally: before a summer holiday as preparation for increased UV exposure, and before winter to strengthen the skin barrier.
How does it differ from other treatments?
Biorevitalisation vs mesotherapy: mesotherapy uses cocktails with a lower concentration of hyaluronic acid and a higher proportion of vitamins and antioxidants; biorevitalisation uses formulations with higher concentrations of hyaluronic acid, focused on intensive hydration and skin quality.
Biorevitalisation vs hyaluronic acid fillers: fillers are used to add volume and contour – the lips, cheekbones or jawline. Biorevitalisation does not change the volume or shape of the face; it improves the quality, tone and texture of the skin.
What does the treatment look like?
The treatment begins with a consultation: an examination of the skin and selection of the optimal product for your individual needs. After the skin is cleansed, a local anaesthetic cream is applied to minimise discomfort, and the product is then precisely injected with fine needles into the appropriate layer of the skin. The treatment takes 30-45 minutes.
The first improvement in hydration and firmness can be noticed within a few days, while the collagen-stimulating effect develops over 2-3 weeks. A course of 3-4 treatments, 3-4 weeks apart, is recommended; with certain advanced formulations such as Juvéderm Volite a single treatment may be sufficient, with effects that according to the stated protocol can last up to 6 months.
Preparation and aftercare
Before treatment: avoid saunas and steam baths for 7 days before the procedure; do not apply make-up and heavy cosmetics for at least 6 hours before treatment; avoid blood-thinning medicines, after consulting your doctor first, to reduce the risk of bruising. Having the procedure during menstruation is not recommended.
After treatment: avoid alcohol because of its possible effect on blood-vessel dilation and swelling. Mild redness or pinpoint injection marks generally resolve within a few hours to 24 hours.
When is the treatment not performed?
The procedure is postponed or not performed in the following cases: pregnancy and breastfeeding; acute infections and conditions accompanied by fever; active cold sores or active inflammatory processes on the skin to be treated; a tendency to form keloid scars; autoimmune diseases such as lupus and rheumatoid arthritis, and oncological diseases; anticoagulant therapy, with an increased risk of bleeding and bruising; allergy to hyaluronic acid or components of the product, which is extremely rare.
Frequently asked questions about biorevitalisation
Does biorevitalisation change facial features?
No. Unlike fillers, biorevitalisation does not add volume or change the shape of the face – it acts solely on skin quality: hydration, tone, texture and radiance.
Is the treatment painful?
A local anaesthetic cream is applied before treatment, so discomfort is minimal. The injections are made with very fine needles and most patients tolerate them well.
When will I see the result?
The first improvement in hydration and firmness is visible within a few days, while the collagen-stimulating effect develops over 2-3 weeks. With a course of treatments the result deepens.
How many sessions are needed?
Usually a course of 3-4 treatments spaced 3-4 weeks apart. With certain formulations, such as Juvéderm Volite, one treatment is enough, with effects lasting up to 6 months.
Can biorevitalisation be combined with other treatments?
Yes – it is often combined with laser treatments, chemical peels or MicroNeedling, with appropriate intervals planned by the doctor. It is also used for skin recovery after more aggressive procedures.
