What are exosomes?

Exosomes are tiny nano-vesicles (30-150 nm) that cells naturally release to communicate with one another. They act as courier particles: they carry proteins, lipids and signals that „instruct“ other cells to start repair and regeneration processes. When the skin is young, this communication is at its peak; with age it weakens, so the skin renews damage more slowly – visible as slower healing, loss of tone and the appearance of lines.

In aesthetic medicine, exosomes are used as part of regenerative protocols: they are placed into the skin in a targeted way to stimulate its natural renewal, improving skin quality, texture and tone.

How do they act on the skin?

Once placed in the skin, exosomes carry regenerative signals to its cells: they stimulate fibroblast activity, increase collagen and elastin production and speed up the recovery of damaged tissue. After a course of treatments the skin looks healthier, more even and firmer, and the effect develops naturally over several weeks.

Treatment formulations often contain complementary active ingredients alongside exosomes – growth factors, peptides, antioxidants such as glutathione and concentrated retinol – for all-round support of hydration, vitality and firmness.

When are exosomes recommended?

What does the treatment look like?

The treatment begins with thorough skin cleansing, after which the exosomes are delivered using the MicroNeedling (dermapen) technique, which allows even distribution of the product across the entire treated area. The procedure is not painful and usually requires no anaesthetic cream. A soothing peptide mask or exosome cream is applied afterwards. Mild redness resolves within 24 hours.

Exosomes for hair and scalp

A special and increasingly popular application of exosomes is scalp and hair care. Scalp formulations contain exosomes in synergy with growth factors, biotin, amino acids and peptides, and are intended for conditions such as damaged, brittle and dull hair, dry scalp, hair shedding and irregular growth cycles. A course of combined therapy is recommended, with the number and interval of sessions determined by the indication. The goal is a healthier scalp, thicker hair shafts and denser, shinier hair.

How many treatments are needed?
