What is Profhilo?
Profhilo is an injectable product for skin hydration and rejuvenation with one of the highest concentrations of hyaluronic acid on the market – 64 mg in 2 ml. It belongs to the group of skin boosters, but its action goes beyond classic hydration: in addition to restoring moisture to the skin, it actively stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, which is why it is also classed as a collagen stimulator.
As a result, Profhilo improves skin tone, texture, hydration and elasticity and delivers a natural, gradual rejuvenating effect – without adding volume and without changing facial features. Because of this combined action it is often described as a „3 in 1“ treatment: it unites the effects of a skin booster, light biorevitalisation and mesotherapy in a single procedure.
How does Profhilo work?
Unlike hyaluronic acid fillers, which stay where they are applied and restore volume in a specific area, Profhilo spreads evenly through the subcutaneous tissue after injection. There it binds water and provides long-lasting hydration, while at the same time stimulating fibroblasts to synthesise new collagen and elastin – the key proteins for skin firmness and elasticity. The result is skin that looks healthier, younger and more radiant, with a natural and gradual effect.
What does the Profhilo treatment look like?
After anaesthetic cream is applied, Profhilo is injected with a fine needle into 5 key, predefined points on each side of the face (the BAP technique): the most prominent point of the cheekbone, the area of the cheekbone in front of the ear, the base of the nasolabial fold, the chin and the angle of the lower jaw. Since it involves only a few injections, the treatment is minimally painful and takes just a few minutes, and no downtime is needed.
You return to your usual activities immediately after the treatment. Make-up, intense physical activity, sun exposure and saunas are not recommended in the first 24 hours.
How many treatments are needed?
The hyaluronic acid from the product is gradually released in the skin over about 28 days, so for an optimal effect the treatment is repeated after one month – the standard protocol is two treatments one month apart. The results then build over the following weeks, and to maintain the effect the treatment is recommended every 5 to 6 months.
